About Us

New Lovers Shoes was born out of the desire to create a footwear collection that embraces equilibrated designs, functional lines, playful colours and experimental materials. 

NLS is a family project. Our design team is based in Barcelona, led by Leonor Diaz Godoy with more than 10 years’ experience in the shoe industry and brother Diego Díaz Godoy running the production office in Elda – Spain’s hub for high quality leather footwear. Each and every pair is handcrafted using superior leathers and high-grade materials all locally-sourced to assure a top quality standard for a conscious consumer that seeks design, comfort and visible quality. Footwear making is a lengthy and complex process beginning with drawing the shoe, creating the pattern, cutting the leather and finally stitching. The beautifully finished NLS shoe we ultimately present has passed between more than 20 set of skilled hands. Unsurprisingly Diego declares "I enjoy closely following this teamwork transform a piece of leather into a shoe we are proud of. NLS present two collections a year and each delivers a comprehensive range of styles encompassing solid lines of both designer and contemporary shoes. Leonor Díaz Godoy expertly oversees the development of every collection and is fully involved from the beginning of the process selecting each and every shoe component, leathers, heels, colours. In Leonor’s own words “I place special importance on the development of our own lasts (shoe mould). Naturally I want to design beautiful looking shoes so I put special emphasis on creating lines that enhance our feet, yet never sacrifice wearability for a look. In reality like all women I value a classic pair of shoes that can be worn every day which becomes a staple piece in my wardrobe. I want this to be a hallmark of all New Lovers collections”
